As a material for the inventive plant protection cover translucent plastics, polyethylene or polypropylene, are preferred. This results in a simple and reliable backup of the circular cylindrical or prismatic shape of the shell of the inventive plant protection cover.
The plant protection cover according to the invention may have one, two or more than two openings in the side surfaces of its shell. These openings can be provided from the outset by corresponding openings (holes) from the blank, from which the plant protection cover according to the invention is produced, are cut out. However, there is also the possibility of merely punching the material of the crop protection casing according to the invention in the region of the outline of openings to be produced, so that the part of the wall of the plant protection casing bounded by the stamped portions still remains in the wall and the opening only when required with final detachment of the stamped areas can be opened.
It is also considered within the scope of the invention, the material in the range of openings to be cut open on three sides, so that tongues are formed, which can be bent out more or less as needed from the plane of the wall of the plant protection cover to the size to be able to set the available cross-sections for the passage of air to the particular desired extent.
